Thats right folks, its the year 2004 and unfortunantly discrimination does exist. Its a sad world where people are recognized and treated differently due to their skin color. Ive seen white kids act more black than blacks do, and vice versa. People are individuals, your average, normal person who was not born with some type of defect, be it physical or mental, are all on the same playing field for potential in this world. Or so you would hope.

Unfortunantly, thats just a dream. For the past few centuries, European settlers have all but dominated the globe at one point in time. Alot of those areas are still under the control of those same governments. Yes, it does seem the white man is keeping everyone down with their evil ways. White men are simply an unstopable force it would seem. It seems rather obvious that all other races and ethnic backgrounds are at a sever handicap when it comes to competing with the white man in anything. I mean....why else would white men be handicapped politically and socially more than any other group in this country? Why would every other 'minority' in this country get handouts left and right to promote them into the same status white men are? Why else would every other group outside of the white male demographic get freedom of speech and those within that demographic only be given conditional freedom of speech? Clearly white men are just unstopable in every aspect of existence. Is this a white power article? Definantly not, farm from it. I simply have a desire to tell certain people that they are indeed allowed to take a piece off of "Shut The Hell Up" pie now, and hope to point out some serious flaws in this society and government.

I wont go into a novel here, but I intend to speak my mind about an issue that really toasts my pop-tarts. Thats right, I get that angry. When trying to figure out how I was going to finance my college education, something really started to be driven into my head, and that is: DARN ME FOR BEING BORN A WHITE MALE. It appears that discrimination is running rather rampant this day in age, and from what I see everyone is benifiting from it except white, heterosexual, males. Its truly disturbing and quite annoying to see blantant discrimination against those who were cursed with white skin. Take a quick look through random scholarships, grants, and even loans for education. You will not see a single piece of paper that says "Males of the caucasian ethnicity are favored for this scholarship", but you'll find a whole lot of "african american candidates are encouraged" or "those of under-represented minorities are favored for this scholarship". Dont believe me? Well let me direct you to the following link, to the Microsoft Computer Science scholarship, which can be found here. I ask you to click on the "requirements" link and read the third paragraph on that page. For those of you who are burdened by an extra window, I will just post that paragraph below.

"We want to encourage students from groups currently underrepresented in the field of computer science to pursue technical degrees. While all candidates who meet the criteria for eligibility described below may apply, a large majority of our scholarships will be awarded to female students, underrepresented minority students, and students with disabilities. Minority applicants must be a member of one of the following groups underrepresented in the software field: African-American, Hispanic, or Native American."

Translation; if you want help with your education dont bother unless you are not black, hispanic, native american, disabled, or a woman. Now seriosuly, arnt there laws against that? Blantant discrimination against someone based on race? You know what, I will 100% agree with the fact that those who were unfairly given a physical or mental handicap do infact deserve scholarships more than a perfectly healthy human being. I can not describe how greatful I was born a normal healthy person. It is not fair at all that some people cannot make the same claim, they DO deserve help. That being said, I'll even give it to the Native Americans. If any minority in this country has been given the shaft, its them. Their people, their culture, was nearly removed from the face of the Earth, they deserve repayment. Scholarships probably dont do anything to help their feelings on the issue, but I do feel they still deserve any help they can to better their people. That being said, what the hell was the rest of that about. Women, African Americans, Hispanics? When did the struggle for EQUALITY (keywod alert) for them flip-flop into them being handed an ADVANTAGE? What is equal about that? I admit that that whole little slavery thing was blantantly wrong, but guess what. ITS OVER, ITS BEEN OVER, THEY ARE NOT ENSLAVED. Im of large portion Scotish heritage, my people got the shaft just as bad, if not worse than any group of African descent, at least if its compared to their treatment from other whites. Slavery was wrong and immoral, terrible, but its alot better than being raped and pillaged (and enslaved as well) for a handful of centuries like MY Scotish, WHITE, ancestors had to put up with from their European neighbors. Yes, Africa did indeed suffer an identical period of time during the European Imperial days, when European powers started landgrabbing like there was no tomrrow. But that time period lasted a fraction of the time that my own ancestors had to put up with. Want to know what else is funny? My ancestors didnt have one of their own selling them out, unlike any person from an African descent can claim. Whats funny to me is that the white man is blamed solely for the slave trade, when it was in fact Africans selling eachother to the white men for their own profit. Ya'll got dimed out suckas. Deal with it. You're not a slave, you dont deserve anything special. Dont cry about social injustice, you do it to yourselves with your endless quest for equal rights paralled with your endless drive to create an entirely isolated culture valuing nothing other than athletics and gang violence. What the hell do you expect to come from that? Nobody can help your people but yourselves. Oh yeah, by the way, also give mad hate to the white guys who died by the tens of thousands ENDING slavery as well. They sure kept you down...

And whats this deal about hispanics? Am I the only one that has read the numbers? Hispanics are not a minority. Depending on where you go, hispanics are the majority. Indeed on a national level, hispanics are of a less of a percentage of the population as whites, but they are far far far far from a minority now. How and why they ever even got the argument through that they deserve special treatment is beyond me. They are people, like anyone else. At least blacks can beat the old slavery drum, I have no idea what crutch hispanics used to make their arguemt, other than the fact they look like white people when they tan. Speaking a different language and having a different culture shoulnt entitle you to special treatment, we're all different. Thats actually sorta how this country was founded. We're all special, our mommys told us so. Last but not least, WOMEN? Dont get me wrong here, I love women, in fact I have a girlfriend that I love very much. I value her as a person as much or more, than any man I know. That being said I dont feel that her being born of the opposite gender as me entitles her to more things in life (ok, thats a lie, I want her to have anything she wants in life as easy as possible, but thats just because she is my girlfriend). All people have had hard times in the past, and I applaud the efforts of their forebearers for fighting for their own rights and getting them the equality that they deserve. But, its gone beyond that now. Equality has turned into handicapping those that they wished to be equal to. If two people are born and raised in this country, and both want to acheive the same goals in this life, they should be helped out equally. Help should not based on race, sex, or what have you. Nothing but obvious financial need (which spans all cultures and people not just minorities) should determine what they recieve.

Yes, I have hit the whole educational aid system pretty heavy as my argument, but that is only due to its ease of use. I could use 100 examples and have the same result; discrimination has not ended, it is simply rotating. It is not balancing out, its simply working in the opposite direction now. That wouldnt bother me so much if not for the fact that while it is pretty obvious it is starting to happen, NOTHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT IT. When minorities were discriminated against, they were allowed to use many means to combat the problem. That cannot be said in reverse. The way laws have been written in this country make it essentially impossible for a white male to argue discrimination. Society is against it as well. Black comics can stand up on stage for hours having no other content other than mocking whites (horay for origionality by the way, rinse and repeat). If the same here done by a white man about blacks, he would find himself jobless, and probably in the hospital due to mob mentality that breaks out once the double standard swings back the other way.

It could easily be an argument counter to my scholarship example that, "hey, its their own money, they are allowed decide who benifits from it and who dosnt". And you know what, thats entirely reasonable. But whats funny is that that only applies when a white guy is on the bad end of the deal. The second the tables are reversed, it becomed a political witch-hunt. A fine example would be a white man owning his own business. If he had a desire to only help white people out and hire them, he would be out of business before he knew it. Affirmative action is amazing by the way. Screw actual talent, its all about making a utopian workplace. I love that idea, its great. I sure hope if I have surgery one day and the guy operating on me is a minority, that he got there by being skilled, and not by a government bill. Scary thought isnt it?

I'll end this rant with a little question. What about Asians, what about India-Americans? What about Muslims or Jews? Sure they all make a little news here and there about discrimination, but they dont really have handicaps in their favor anywhere near that of the "minorities" in this country. Blacks and Hispanics actually outnumber all of the previously listed by at least four fold, usually much much more. I honestly do not think Blacks or Hispanics are minorities anymore, so their special treatment serves no purpose anymore. Yet, the previously listed "real" minorities (who are an actual minority in the population by percent) really dont have to go out and force people to give them handouts. For the most part they actually have acheived success on their own when they have, with just as worse discrimination than their fellow minorities have had to endure.
